Creating a Button

This tutorial covers how to create and configure a button.

  1. Drag and drop an image to the grid
  2. Drag and drop a Device command to the button
  3. Save the Panel

Step One: Images

Select the Images tab in the iRule Builder interface.

 

Step Two: Drag and Drop Image

Step Two :: Image Title

Drag and drop an image to the main interface window. The button will snap to the center of a cell defined by the grid. The cell where the button will be placed is highlighted in blue.

 

Step Three: Gray Button

When a button is initially created it will be grayed out. The graying out of the button is a visual indicator that the button does not have a command associated with it.

 

Step Four: Devices

Select the Devices tab in the iRule Builder interface.

 

Step Five: Expand Device

Expand the Device and Codes to show the available Codes that can be assigned to a button.

 

Step Six: Drag and Drop Code

Step Six :: Image Title

Drag and drop the Device code to the button in the main interface window. The button where the command will be assigned is highlighted in blue.

 

Step Seven: Complete Button

Now that a command is assigned to a button the button is no longer grayed out. .

 

Step Eight:Save

To complete the button creation process save the Panels. Your new button is ready to be synced to the iRule application.
