Copying a Panel

This tutorial covers how to copy a Panel in the iRule Builder. In many cases, a Panel will contain the interface for an activity such as watch Blu-Ray. Copying the Panel allows the user to quickly create a duplicate interface for a similar activity such as watch DVD. 

1. Open iRule Builder.
2. Right click and select copy Panel.
3. Review new Panel.
4. Modify copied Panel.

Step One: Open iRule Builder

Open the iRule Builder at http://www.iruleathome.com

Step Two: Copy Panel

Right click on the Panel you would like to copy and select Copy panel from the drop down list. In this tutorial we will copy the Watch Movie Panel and create a watch HD-DVD Panel.

Step Three: Review

Notice the new Panel is created with the name " Copy of Watch Movie". The words Copy of will always be appended to the name of a copied Panel.

Step Four: Modify Panel

After the Panel is copied, you can modify the Name, Pages, buttons and commands to customize the new Panel.

Step Five: Review Interface

When we expand the copied Panel, you can see the entire interface has been duplicated including background images, links, labels, buttons and commands.
