Transcript
Welcome to the iRule tutorial video. Lesson 4, setting up a Global Cache Gateway in the iRule. In this lesson, we add a new Gateway and configure all of the necessary settings to send IR commands from the iRule to the Satellite receiver.
Open the Gateways page in the iRule. Press the Edit button in the upper right corner. Press the Add new Gateway button under the GC-100-6. The iRule will automatically search the network to find the GC we added in Lesson 3. When the iRule finds a new Gateway, it will display the IP information under the New section. Press the IP address of the newly found Gateway and you will see the Gateway Settings page. Press the Channel 1 button under the IR section to assign a device. Now, press the Add Device button to select from the available devices in the list. Select the DirecTV Satellite from the list and press the Save button. You can repeat this process for additional IR devices for each Channel. Note that you can use dual emitters and add multiple devices to a single IR Channel.
Under Gateway Configuration, you can change the name of the Gateway. Once you finish, press the Save button in the upper right corner to complete the setup of the new Gateway. Note that Gateways do not need to be configured after a Sync.
Go to the Panel screen and enter the Lesson 1 Panel. You can now test the commands to change the channel on the DirecTV receiver.
