iRule interfaces with many different devices using IR, RS232 and Ethernet.

Supported devices include gateways which translate the codes from iRule to IR or RS-232 serial. Devices are consumer electronics that are controlled using the gateways.

Note 1: Many gateways support the use of dual emitters or IR blasters, allowing the user to control more devices with the same number of IR ports.

Note 2: iRule can control other gateways, but they are not officially supported and will require specific knowledge of the gateway.

Note 3: iTach gateways support up to eight (8) concurrent connections, while the GC-100 series gateways support only one (1) connection at a time. If your controlled devices may require concurrent connections (two people may try to control a device at the same time, i.e. whole-house audio or lighting), you must use an iTach instead of a GC-100.
